Edgewood Bakery was originally started by Mr. Brown on August 17, 1947, who owned the bakery until 1970. The bakery was originally located on 1022 S. Edgewood Avenue. The bakery was later purchased and owned by the Poppingas from 1970-1991. In 1991, Sandy and Gary Polletta purchased and became owners of Edgewood Bakery.Under the Pollettas and family, the bakery was expanded to include additional bakery products, a breakfast and lunch cafe, an outdoor courtyard and much more.
Since 1947, Edgewood Bakery has consistently remained one of Jacksonville’s most beloved bakeries. From our award-winning Danish to seasonal pies…from gooey chocolate chip cookies to secret recipe doughnuts….from mouthwatering cinnamon rolls to adorable cupcakes, Edgewood Bakery is the go-to source for all things sweet.
