Introduction
Rehoboth Art League (RAL), founded in 1938, is a 1,100 member arts organization with the mission to teach, inspire and encourage the artistic spirit in the region. Its founding members were artists and art educators who provided art education to children and adults during the summer months. Located in Henlopen Acres in the Rehoboth Beach area, RAL provides free access to its 3.5 acre campus comprised of art galleries, educational classrooms, and historic buildings, such as the Peter Marsh Homestead. Activities and programs embrace diverse cultural, age, disability and socioeconomic groups.
In the past 72 years, the RAL has expanded its programs to include year-around art education, exhibitions, and open studios in a variety of art mediums. Over the years, artists from the novice to the professional come to the RAL to develop their skills or to share their experience with others. The RAL is a contributor to the local and regional economy by offering income for over 750 artists through teaching and sale of their work. In addition the RAL draws tourists to the region to participate in the master level education classes and the open studios, see the exhibits, and engage in our summer events.
